The original intention of my artwork was to create an ironic version of the Romanticism movement. The romanticism movement often depicted vivid landscapes full of vegetation and or people. The mainframe for my artwork derived inspiration from The Hay Wain as it depicts a flat landscape, with buildings on the side with trees in the distance. As for the visual context I took inspiration from The Hay Wain, as the painting is composed of dashes of color to create the various forms/shapes of the various objects within the painting. The original intention of my artwork was to create an ironic version of the Picasso’s Old guitarist. I wanted to use a happier and more vivid alternate version of Old Guitarist. Old Guitarist depicts an old man slumped in a weird way, the painting uses cool colors to create create a somber feeling for his piece. I used the centerpiece of Man and twisted it to represent my idea by making the man young and stand in a more comfortable pose. My second inspiration was Jazz, a music that is typically upbeat with a rush of beats serves as a contrast of culture and ideology in my painting.
